FAQ's

Q: How often is the directory distributed?

A: Monthly, to six different areas.

Q: Can I have my advert designed?

A: Yes we can do basic design advert in colour or mono.

Q: Is there a charge for creating my advert?

A: There is no charge for a basic advert. If you require something more complex we can discuss the price.

Q: Who delivers the directories?

A: We employ people from the local area to deliver the directories this means they have a good knowledge of the areas.

Q: I don’t live in the area I am advertising in can I have a copy of the directory?

A: We will send you a copy of every area that you are advertising in unless you state otherwise. (Note we will be doing eshot of book so this will be changed.)

Q: Do I get to see my advert before it is printed?

A: We will email you a copy of your advert and you will need to send over an email approving the copy by the date on the email to ensure you will be included in the specified directory.

Q: I do not have an email account how will I approve my advert?

A: We will send you the advert in the post and you will need to return the signed form approving your advert by the stated date on the form to ensure you will be included in the specified directory.

Q: Can I pay monthly for my advert?

A: You can pay by standing order, cheque or credit/debit card monthly. We can arrange to call you each month or you can call us.

Q: If I am paying monthly when is my payment due?

A: The first payment will be due with the proof and all other payment will be due on the 1st of each month.

Q: Can I cancel my advert?

A: Your advert must be cancelled before we go to print. If we have gone to print the advert cannot be cancelled. We would need to have the cancellation in writing.

Q: Can I alter my advert at any time?

A: Your advert would need to be changed and approved before the 1st of the month prior to the month you will be advertising in. (e.g. January directories would need alterations approved by 1st December)

Q: When are the directories delivered?

A: The directories are delivered at different time’s dependant on the area. For details Click here.

Q: When is payment due?

A: Payment is due before your advert goes to print. If you book 3 months or a year you can pay monthly. Your 1st payment will be due with your order and then each payment will be due on the 1st of the month.

Q: When would I expect to receive some enquiries?

A: Advertising is not a science depending on your trade will depend on when you start to see results. It is better to advertise for a longer period of time in one area than to hit all of the areas for 1 month. It is said a new customer needs to see your name 6 - 7 times before they recognise you. (this can be the sign on your van, the advert in the directory and signage on the back of a bus).

Q: Does the size of my advert make a difference to receiving enquiries?

A: The size of your advert does not make a difference but the larger your advert the more information you can include without it looking overcrowded.

Q: Does a colour advert make a difference?

A: A colour advert gives you more impact with your customers and continues your branding making you stick out from the rest.

Q: Can I use pictures in my advert.

A: You can use any picture taken by or you have authority to use and stock pictures that have no copyright.

Q: Can I come in to the office to design my advert?

A: You can come in as sit with our designer Maddi and a have a cup of coffee or tea. She will then work on your ideas and email or post you the proof.

Q: Can you come and visit me to discuss my advert?

A: Sheena will come and discuss your requirements with you and then go away with the ideas and Maddi will design the advert and forward it to you for your approval.

Q: Can I appear under more than one index category?

A: You can appear in as many categories as you want for an extra charge of £1.50 per month per edition.

Q: Can we have leaflets or cards delivered with the directories?

A: Yes you can have from 1000 leaflets to the full delivery of 31000 leaflet delivered with the booklets. They need to be A5 or under or ready folded A4 leaflets.

Q: Do you design the leaflets?

A: We can design the leaflets but there will be a charge dependant on the time needed.

Q: Do you print the leaflets?

A: We do not print the leaflets but we can put you in touch with our printer who will print them for you.

Q: Can we have an editorial with our advert?

A: We are a business directory and not a magazine however you can increase the size of your advert to include an editorial about you.

Q: I am from outside Lincolnshire can I advertise in the directory?

A: Our directory is about Linking Local Businesses with Local People. The staff who are doing the work must be resident in Lincoln. (i.e. Franchises may be national but the owner of the franchise will be resident in Lincolnshire.
